We begin where you are

I am qualified to work with a broad range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including experiences that may feel complex, unclear, or difficult to articulate.

I am registered with the BACP and trained by the CPCAB. I abide by the BACP’s Ethical Framework and practice in line with new SCoPEd guidelines.

I offer online or in-person sessions at my practice in Saltdean, Brighton & Hove.

Person-Centred Therapy

I currently practice primarily within a Person-Centred model. This means that we enter the therapeutic space together in collaboration. My role is not to diagnose or analyse you, but to support you in understanding yourself more deeply and exploring how you experience the world.

Trauma-Informed

I am trauma-informed, which means I have a strong understanding of the impact of both single-event and complex trauma. I am particularly interested in the ways traumatic experiences can live within the body, and where appropriate I may work somatically.

Somatic Work

Somatic work involves paying attention to physical responses, sensations, and nervous system patterns alongside thoughts and emotions. In my experience, this kind of work can open up new levels of awareness and understanding.

My interest in this field began through the work of Bessel van der Kolk, Pat Ogden, Janina Fisher, Deb Dana, and Peter Levine, and I have completed additional training courses with these practitioners in the US.

Transactional Analysis

Over the next three years I will be training in Transactional Analysis and working towards qualification as a registered psychotherapist. Transactional Analysis is a more analytical modality than Person-Centred therapy, and my long-term aim is to integrate the two approaches into a flexible and responsive way of working therapeutically.

Who I Work With

I value working with people who are committed to themselves, and to the therapeutic process. Therapy can be a brave and challenging road to walk, and I feel a great sense of privilege in accompanying people through part of that journey.

I have particular experience and interest in working with neurodiverse minds, especially late-diagnosed adults, and I believe deeply in the neurodivergent capacity to thrive.

I have experience working in hospices supporting people through death, bereavement, life-limiting illness, and loss.

I have experience working across a range of faiths, belief systems, and spiritual perspectives, and I also work with religious trauma.

I am a fully inclusive therapist and welcome you as you are.
